5GS3

The overall goal of the 5GS3 use case is to address the challenges for a safer airport environment for both the visitors and the airport staff by undertaking and automating risky and intensive tasks concerning the surveillance and patrolling of the airport environment resources, like security fences, runways, parking lots and the indoor crowded arrivals and departure halls. Specifically, the use case aims to leverage the use of 5G and B5G networks and enhance the monitoring and response capabilities related to the threats met in an airport environment by developing a fleet of autonomous electric robots that perform continuous surveillance and collaboratively collect and process information regarding potential safety issues and security threats, across such resources. These robots would jointly identify the type of possible threats and provide initial assessments to the authorised airport staff for further decision-making.
