Ultra Low Latency M2M Communications for Fabrication Systems

Future smart factories require reliable and deterministic networks for critical industrial applications.
The convergence of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and private 5G enables end-to-end deterministic connectivity and consistent performance to support Industry 4.0. The project will focus on integrating TSN features with the 5G system. A Network-Side TSN Translator (NW-TT), Device-Side TSN Translator (DS-TT) will be developed to translate TSN-specific data formats and protocols into
a 5G compatible format and vice versa. An end-to-end integrated 5G and TSN system will be developed and multiple data streams with different priority will be generated to test system performance.
This implementation will enable the 5G system to act as a logical bridge connecting wired TSN environments and industrial applications.
