UWB/SDM optical node, including the WBSS and the oDAC-based plasmonic transponders, integrated with the SDN control architecture, will be demonstrated in different test scenarios (defined in task 6.1) in the testbed set up in task 6.2. The capabilities of the developed technologies in FLEX-SCALE will be evaluated in at least 3 test scenarios, which will include:
- The generation and detection of high-capacity optical data signals using plasmonic transceivers
- The switching of optical signals from different spatially separated fibers and from different wavelength bands in the MG-node
- The use of an SDN control architecture to manage the MG-node and the plasmonic transceivers, based on an optical monitoring framework
