LEARN-6G

This project contributes to the 6G-XR initiative, focusing on the validation of innovative 6G applications, particularly demanding immersive use cases such as holography, digital twins, and XR/VR. UPV collaborated with i2CAT’s South Node facility to design and deploy a cross-site training and education use case (6G-XR-OC3-TOP1.2). The project leveraged advanced 5G and 6G capabilities, including edge computing, and immersive holographic communications. A connection has been established between UPV and i2CAT, facilitating real-time holographic communication. By deploying this use case, the project evaluated the viability of these technologies for education and validate the 6G-XR platform.  UPV contributed with its state-of-the-art immersive communications lab, integrating multiple immersive solutions with its private standalone 5G network, interconnected with i2CAT’s infrastructure. By leveraging commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions, the project delivered a real-world demonstration while gathering key insights on QoS requirements.
