AI/ML-aided enhanced multiple access, integrating low-EMF FAs in the FR1/FR3 bands
This PoC will demonstrate multiple access performance improvement by integrating predictive AI/ML capabilities with reconfigurable FAs with low-EMF exposure and reduced energy consumption. Moreover, this PoC will put emphasis on establishing a first-principle-based formulation, enabling the characterisation of the movement of a liquid metal drop placed into a capillary to comprehend the problem. Reconfiguration time will be analysed while the FA design will be improved to incorporate a finite reconfiguration time. In this way, a realistic FA model will better highlight the advantages of using FAs instead of regular devices. Obtaining these results, and focusing on evaluating different approaches (e.g., multi-user interference cancellation, shadowing mitigation, etc.) will highlight the advantages of FAs in the 6G RAN.
