6G-BRICKS

CollabXR

use case image

CollabXR is intended to validate and showcase the transformative potential of 6G technologies in fields that demand immersive, haptic-enabled interactions and coordinated VR experiences, such as healthcare, industrial training, and beyond. By demonstrating the power of 6G infrastructure in enhancing real-time human-machine interaction, the project sets a new standard for effective, synchronous training in complex environments.
CollabXR is an initiative to deploy a multiplayer VR medical training application requiring real-time synchronisation and precision. Utilising the unique capabilities of Magos VR Haptic gloves — with finger tracking accuracy and advanced haptic feedback — the project team will create an immersive environment where users experience lifelike interactions essential for collaborative training-team building. The team has the required expertise, having developed and tested a multiplayer module over WiFi and VR project collaboration in 5G testbed.

There is alignment with 6G-BRICKS’ objectives by harnessing EURECOM’s high-frequency mmWave and RIS capabilities to meet the low-latency, high-throughput demands of synchronised visual and haptic feedback across multiple users. Through rigorous testing and optimisation,

The project will have significant impact to the 6G-BRICKS project since it will showcase how 6G infrastructure enables immersive, real-time collaborative experiences with haptic feedback and precise synchronization, meeting the rigorous demands of training applications.

Concluding CollabXR not only sets new benchmarks in medical training but also extends its impact for the future to diverse sectors, including tele-robotics, industry 4.0, aerospace, and animation.
